3D-I Assignment 3; Part 1

Here is the presentation and the progress report of assignment 2 all baked in to one. I chose to model a 12th century baptismal font. Yesterday my group tried to make a paper prototype that will represent the gameplay that we want the final pc game to have. In order to make this reality we started of with a basic boardgame as our base. I used a similar approach in my other group when we made a paperprototype of Left 4 Dead 2.

Space Shooter 2: Electric Boogaloo
… or maybe not. Actually, yesterday we decided that the name for our Space Shooter should be Candybones Carnival, which I really like.
For the artstyle of the game we decided on a paper cut out sort of look. I struggled a bit with it at the beginning, but I think I’m getting the hang of it!

This is how far I have come with the modeling and texturing of the knife.
The knife imported into UDK.
This was the toughest one so far to texture, the modeling part was not that hard to do. But the thing that was hard was to unwrap the UV. The only hard part was the middle one where i wanted to cut it open into one piece, I sat down and tried it for two hole days […]

Developers Diary. Meeting 2. Jetpack Orangutan.
Second Meeting.
We met up again and immediately began discussing what the group had done.
As producer I had the team assemble in the library and I asked the group to look at the slides for the One-Page Design Lecture that Marcus had put on our web-portal for Uppsala University.
The first thing we did was decide on a high-concept. A sentence that is the essence of our game, is punchy and informative and interesting.
