Awarded! Finally

So the Swedish Game Awards ceremony went down at the 18th of June so here is the update!
After presenting our game, the station was crowded due to the exterior design of the game and a lot of noises coming from the gathered crowd, we were finally ready for the ceremony that would be held the day after. I was getting everything ready for the evening, chosen my outfit and checking with my brother if he was ready to be picked […]

First Year: Done!

Participating in this game design course at Campus Gotland, University of Uppsala, made me evolve artistically and as a designer. I had come to realize a lot of things, gained experience in new areas, and finally but not least: Taking up drawing again. And this Blog will be the proof for me to recognize my own development.

Three projects where made:
1- Project minetrain: This was to learn how to build and create game concepts, design documents and how to pitch our […]

Rearranging the puzzles

Our main idea was to make two different levels. The one we started on was meant to be the second one,the factory level. The first one would work like a tutorial level to present the different robots and solutions for the player and would be a city area. Apart from makin meshes, I have spent the last weeks designing the different puzzles and rooms for this set up, but by the end of last week we realised that we wouldn’t be able […]

Cogwheels, Design and UVs

This week I’ve continued with the UVs for the different robots. They are now finished for every robot, except the Controller. The player will be able to controll different robots when they fuse them with the Controller. We’ve discussed how this will be handled ingame and what it will look like for the player. At first we had the idea that the player would stand behind the robot and have a view from the robots back. This turned out quite […]

Puzzle design and UV-map

This week I was supposed to continue on the UV-mapping of the different robots. I had a meeting with our graphic teacher, Jonatan this tuesday and he gave me some advice on how to make the UVs in such a way that I could use them for both the fusion and the base version of the robots.
Instead of making an extra UV-map with the added details in the fusions, I UV-map the fused version of the robots. I also make […]

3D3, real-time 3D

The Big Game Project has already begun and most of my time goes into developing our game. But before I’ll begin writing about that journey I’ll sum up what I’ve done in the previous 3D course.
Our first assignment was to create two tile able textures, to get some challenge I decided to go with realistic grass and a brick wall texture. I had most problems with the grass texture because I did didn’t want the texture to look to boring […]

Summer work and studies

Today the strangest thing happened when I was driving home from the grocery store.. I already had a workplace for the summer and plans to study life drawing aside, then suddenly my phone rang and I got an offer to work on a app this summer. We’re going to have a lunch meeting on Wednesday to talk about it more, I don’t want to spoil more details until things are decided but I’m really looking forward to it!
