Assignment 3: visual update 3
This is my murloc imported into UDK, complete with normal, specular and diffuse map. The only thing missing is the alpha texture I made for the teeth! because I have not yet figured out how to include it in the package, so for now the murloc is looking kind of sweet and cheerful… which is not an accurate way for a murloc to be perceived. Even so it still […]

Alternative title: PIÑATA SMASH!
Almost a week ago now, on thursday, we showed Marcus our paper prototype for Candybones Carnival. He basically thought we had a fairly soild space shooter, even though we needed to clarify some things. However, one of his biggest criticisms were that we had done the minimum requirements for the assignment and not more than that. We had a space shooter, but that was all it was.
So, we decided to take a break for a few days.
At […]

Assignment 3 week8
So I was not able to deliver this post last week as I was not finished with building the mesh, and I wanted to ask for help before posting this so that everything was “right” before I did it.
Now to how far I have come with this:
Now that the structure is almost done, soon I will have to apply the texture. I did some distortions on the picture as you can […]

Mystery project is “Desert Raiders” – Game explained – Post #3
I have decided on a production name of my mystery project, it’s now called “Desert Raiders”.
The game is a competative multiplayer arena style game for 2-4 players. The goal of an arena match is to defeat all opponents and be the only player left standing. The core mechanics are simple, players place explosives in order to destroy destructible objects and damage other players.
Descructible objects can drop upgrades that improve players explosives during a match. Players can also have unique special abilities, such as “dash”, “remote explosive” or “teleport”. […]

Developement Diary; part 9
Today we are working on the project in general, what we get done. Focus on the concept document, pitch and one-pager.
I worked on target audiences today. I failed. I have a very hard time defining an audience for this game.

Developement Diary; scriptum post

The pitch draft was presented and even though positive feedback was given, a lot of the information we had wasn’t even on the pitch and therefore it is a bit confusing as to what feedback is even valid at the moment.
