Things are coming to an end.
Well not really, but at least for my pending course, Game Analysis & Game Design. The final assignment we were handed is a five week Concept project. We were divided into groups by six and were handed two random words that we were supposed to follow when we designed our game. Right now we are two weeks in, and we still have three weeks to go. This is such a big project that I felt that an update about halfway […]

3D Week 7 – Anatomy
I’m still about a week behind schedule with my blogposts, so this will be about what happened last week. Bear with me as I’m trying to catch up. We were asked to evaluate our own, and some classmates, knowledge in anatomy, and to reflect and give constructive criticism to each other on what we need to improve. This post will be about my knowledge in anatomy and what I should work on to improve.
I think that I’ve got a good […]

Week 7
So for this week’s post we are self-evaluate our own knowledge of anatomy artistically speaking, so I will show a few of my 2D drawings and share some of the feedback that I got from my fellow students. Some of these images are already shown in previous posts, so “sorry” or “your welcome” if someone has to repeat the experience.
The thing that I received […]

– No Gravity (Not requiring a gravity system)
– PC controls (Keyboard and/or mouse)
– 10 weeks (The scope of the production time of the concept should be 10 weeks)
– No network (Not requiring network)
– Single-player (Multiplayer or Co-Op can be optional, but the game […]

The different suits of Mary
Continuing on our five weeks project spoken about in the previous post.
This week we first had a brief meeting discussing the basic mechanics of the games. How the character is going to move, shoot etc. We changed a few things. First, we would have the game runt from room-to-room, but now we decided on a continuously moving screen not locked to the player avatar. We decided this because it would offer a better flow to the game, and a bigger […]

3D week 06 – Character turnaround
Hi everybody!
This week we started to work on our assignment 3, which will be a humanoid character (it doesn’t have to be a human but as long as it has two arms, two legs, a head etc. it’s okay).
When creating a character first of you will do a concept of what kind of character it is. Like if it is a human or a monster or whatever, if it is male or female, if it’s young, old etc. a kind […]

3D week 05 – Final Crate
Hello!
This is the final post about my crate and my first assignment in 3D graphics 1.
A 3D model often consists of at least four parts. The mesh which is the actual 3D model, the diffuse map which is the texture that holds all the colours, the specular map which tells the secularity of different parts of the object, and last the normal map which contains information making details look realistic and not like “stickers”.
A diffuse map is basically a 2D […]
