Second Week of Teamwork
During the second week of the project, we worked with our respective assigments. I worked with the concept art on the mole, as well as making a first sprite of it for the game. However, it wasn’t approved by Oskar, the Lead Art, and after two more attempts we decided that I should do a sketch of the mole and send it to him. I should be finished with it by the weekend.

Last Signal – Week 1 + 2
New course and a new project to work on. Due to various students dropping off, there was an unbalace with the groups and team 14, the team I was part of, was divided up into other teams. Me and two others from team 14 were placed in team 5, where we luckily fit in nicely.
The project started by choosing a concept that another team had developed during the previous design course and develop it into a fully funtional game. We […]

Computer issues and busy times have kept me from posting new material lately, so here’s a collection of some work I’ve been doing lately.
Concepts of the player avatar, and
front page design for Ambient Pressure.
Perspective and object rotation assignment.
Warm-ups of the character I’ve been developing, Muir.
Step by step view of my artistic process for assignment drawings.

Two weeks in
After two weeks into our new game development course our group is getting some really good work done. Our programmers have started working on the code and we artists have started with creating the visual parts. Also the game design document is being written and sound effects and music is being searched for.
In this course we are creating a game from a finished concept document created by another group in the previous course. We were free to choose from all […]

First two weeks.
Hello!
The two weeks since the course started have been filled with learning scrum and some amount of drawing. I did recognize the word scrum, seems I used it before. All though that was a long time ago and I hardly remembered anything about it. We in the group have been trying fill the back log with everything we could think of that would be in the game. It will probably turn out that we missed some of the components. Something that […]

Global Game Jam!
23-01-15. The global game jam started and the theme was announced. I had formed a group with 2 other people Gabriel Ajuwa and Nayomi Arvell. I have worked with Gabriel before but not with Nayomi but everyone got a good relation to each other. So the theme was “What do we do now?”. At first we thought of a stop time mechanic but this in the end was trashed as we were not sure of how to make it fun. […]

BAT the Game – Week 2
Week 2 of the BAT Game Project
This week has been very efficent. I myself went into a drawing spree stage were I just wanted to get as much background assets as possible done for our project so that our programmers could start adding the visuals to the game prototypes.
Info about our game: 2D sidescrolling, flying, speedrun. In order to create depth in our game I decided to create a parallax environment. This means that I will create different layers in the forground […]

New Course: Introduction to Game Development
Last week we started a new course called Introduction to Game Development. In this course we have been selected to work in the same groups as we did in the Game Analysis and Game Design course. In the end of that course each group made a game concept and now each group has picked a game concept from one of the other groups.
My group picked a game concept called The Last Signal and it is a game about being the […]

Update
Okay. So I wasn’t that good at updating the blog. My apologies. However, with full intention to break that nasty trend, I thought I’d give an update as to what I’ve learned so far.
Game Design is hard.
I mean, I knew it was hard. But not this hard. Time consuming like anything. We’ve analyzed, designed, discussed, cried, produced like there was no tomorrow – and in spite of all this, we only just now came to begin actual production of a game […]

Final assignment
Our final assignment for the 2D course, for the grade VG, was to use a provided picture of a city to put shadows and light in. It was also a second part of the assignment; to construct from a loose sketch we were also provided with. I started out with the city, since that seemed to be the most time consuming task. We wasn’t supposed to get into detail, but it was hard to avoid all of them.
I began […]

New course: 2D computer graphics: Theory and application 2
Now I have started on a new course called 2D computer graphics: Theory and application 2. This is the follow up to the course 2D computer graphics: Theory and application 1 that I had in the last period. In this course we basically continue from what we did in the last course.
This week we have an assignment to draw our kitchen in either one or two point perspective. We were also supposed to choose an IP (Wiki) of […]
