Week 9 Scrum review.

Hello everyone! This post is a review of the method called Scrum.

What is Scrum?
How did this help us?
What could be better?
What was its weaknesses?
Will I be using it for next course?

These are some of the points I will bring up in this post.
1. Scrum is a method of working were you set up a product backlog that is then turned into a sprint plan for a set amount of week, usually every 4th week, that will contain everything you are […]

Week 8 Mole Atlas

This week is the final Beta presentation. I Made the whole sprite atlas for the Mole this week.

Every animation was made in 64X64 as requested by the programmers. First i made the sprite sheet as compact as possible as the programmers were going to do the collision by pixel collision but then they changed their mind and i had to redo it. Lets go down trough the animations from top to bottom.
1. Walking Animation
2. Digdown transition ( this animation […]

Week 7 Gardener Animations

Week 7. This week I worked on the Gardener animations. As always I was using Flash to animate these. The color is a bit off in the gif’s so they will not represent the final product.

Walking animation:

The walking animation was the easier one of the animations that I did as it would only require some animation of the feet because of it being in top-down view.
The process of making this animation:
1. First I laid down a rough sketch of the gardener. […]

Week 6 Mole Munch

Week 6 of the production. It has been a week since the alpha presentation. Our presentation went great and we got some feedback from our scrum master telling us that we did a good job. We did not get our water mechanic to work tough which was a real bummer. Still, our game showed the main mechanics and our teacher understood what the game was about.

This week I worked on the animation for the digging transition between overworld and underground. […]

Week 5 Walk Animation Top-Level

Week 5 day before the Alpha presentation.
We had the play testing on Monday, 16-02-15, and it went great. We got lots of feedback from our play testers made up mostly by our classmates. Most of the feedback were on what was good and the rest of the feedback was on what we could make better. After hearing this feedback the group assembled and talked it trough what we should change and what we should ignore. Listing to all opinions of […]

Week 4 Game Development.

It is pre-alpha week. The team has been working hard to make our MVP for this weeks deadline. The main point of the MVP is to show the core mechanics. As MVP do not really need fully animated sprites I did not have any pressure on me. Although being ahead of schedule is always a good thing.
Today I made the animated sprite for our main character the mole.

So here is the walking animation for the mole. The perspective of […]

Global Game Jam!

23-01-15. The global game jam started and the theme was announced. I had formed a group with 2 other people Gabriel Ajuwa and Nayomi Arvell. I have worked with Gabriel before but not with Nayomi but everyone got a good relation to each other. So the theme was “What do we do now?”. At first we thought of a stop time mechanic but this in the end was trashed as we were not sure of how to make it fun. […]
