3D Week 07 – Visual update: Assignment 3

Hi!
This is just a really quick visual update post on the assignment 3 showing my work in progress of the base mesh and the edge flow. At this point I have really sticked to the original concept when modelling, but as I have some troubles with the turnaround I received from Seamus I will do some remodelling, mostly on the sillhouette to get a more appealing resoult. I will also redo some of the topology so it will become a […]

Pitch

After a tragic first pitch rehearsal and a construktive second pitch rehearsal the real pitch was today and I definitely think it was a success. The audience seemed to understand how the game would work and the presentation was well recived, tho I was hoping for more comments regarding gameplay. What they liked and disliked about it. Instead most of the discussion afterwards was regarding how PC it was to have characters from the fitness subculture and characters from the nerd subculture dislike […]

Failing makes success

We started off the sixth of October with getting the assignment. Each team consists of 5-6 people. The task was to design a concept for a simple space shooter type of game with the following requirements:
– 2D
– No gravity (not requiring a gravity system in the game)
– PC controls
– No network
– Single player (Multiplayer and Co-Op can be optional as long as the game is playable as 1 person.)
Each team got two things they had to incorporate in the concept. […]

Visual update on how my baptismal font finally turned out

So this is how I made the new version of the baptismal font. I decided to go all out on the skyrim theme and modified reality, so I painted my own relief on the font using the same style as those on the original font from the museum. I also decided to change the material from the light chalk stone to a darker shade stone, Because I felt that I could […]

Personal View on the Pitches

Today the different groups gathered to show their pitches for the space shooter concepts that we have been working on for the last five weeks. I took small notes during every other group’s pitch which will be presented below. Keep in mind that these are my subjective opinions, and each text is written during or just after the pitch was presented. There is also no text on the game ”Green Warden”, since this was from my group and I concider myself […]

Photogrammetry and face topology

During the last leg of the 3D computer graphics course, we students got to look at photogrammetry as a different way of going about creating your 3D models. Photogrammetry is a process whereby you use photos of real objects taken from several different angles and later import them into a software like “123 catch” that it puts all the pieces together and creates you a 3D model of your photographed object. This method of creating 3D models is by no […]
