Doom’s Date Another Update
Yesterday, me and my fellow programmer spent the entire day working on the game. We made some progress but not as much as we wanted to. However, the hurdle that we overcame was a big one. Now we can print out dialogue with a typewriting effect 😀 It also proves that there is always good to have a brain but even better when there are two! Looking forward to our next session and I really have to get going on […]

This Weeks Progress
This Weeks Progress:
This week we’ve had a lot of progress on our board game. I remade our map so it was a lot more balanced than our previous versions while modifying it after feedback other people have given us. When I was happy with the layout I added some graphics real quick to make it more attractive, this version is far from the final one but it gives you an idea of how it could look like.

Advanced game design week 43
This week we had a meeting with Marcus, where we got some more feedback.
The feedback we got:
Add another mechanic to make the game more dynamic.
Make obstacles larger than one tile. As they didn’t hinder the play because they could move diagonally.
He also gave us the idea that board could be flooded by water to stress the players more, as they had to hurry before the board was completely flooded.
I got the task to make the game pieces for the 2nd […]

Recording HD footage with Unity and Fraps
Today I worked on our trailer for our game CoBots. Besides the videographical changes from the GGC trailer I made earlier this year there was also this lingering problem with the colors and the extreme color banding that occured throughout the video. The characters (and everything in general) was also very washed out and somewhat blurred, and this time I set out to do it right. For those of you who […]

Narrative Assignment
So the last week we did an analysis on the story of Bioshock Infinite. Which was, put in simple terms, tough. Firstly I found the whole thing about “3 Act”, “9 Act” and “Heroes Journey” to be extremely confusing. It was not until I had seen my friends hand in that I thought I understood what it was all about. I then chose to do it with the template of a “Heroes Journey”, which I am not so sure was […]

Game Night week
This week has been a very busy one. At the start of the week we had a testing session with Marcus where we explained our board game to him and got some valuable feedback. On Wednesday we tried to apply some of them but got stuck very fast. We had a lot of problems getting unstuck so in the end we scrapped most of our ideas and started over with a really good brainstorming session.
With the new system our game […]

Week 43 Reflection
This was another tough week for us. Many of us (me included) we’re sick and away during the start of the week. When we all finally got together at Wednesday we had some major issues facing us. Both from the testing session last week and from the meeting we had with Marcus Monday we learned that the game we had simply did not work. The biggest issue we had was perhaps with sabotage; it was set up so that it […]
