Hi Shifatul!
First of all, I’m sorry to hear that your alpha playtest didn’t work out as you wanted. It’s really annoying when that happens, but I also know that more teams had some technical problems with their games on the alpha playtest. I think you solved the problem good by just leave the playtesting and sit together and fix the problem. It’s also good that you did a lot of playtests in the team although, it’s better to let people […]

My comment:
You clearly explain why you decided to work on the bee movement relating it to the feedback you got during the play testing and that the movement you had was just a placeholder. What and how the movement was changed was also explained pretty well, but I would have liked a more technical description of the movement system you made and a more detailed explanation of how it worked. Also I would have liked to know […]

Hey,
Interesting blog post. You describe in a good way how you have used Scrum and also why you find it to be beneficial and working well for you and your group. You tell about the daily stand up and why you like them and how they are working well for your team in a simple and good way, so it is really easy to read and understand whats going on. Im glad the scrum has been working out well for […]

Hey Elias!
Interesting post, with a lot of ideas and thoughts. It was entertaining to read.
I agree with your statement about the importance of communication. Communication is key for a successful game so I think it is great that you lift this so heavily. I think you tell quite detailed what, how and why your work is done in a good way. However, I don’t see to much of the game itself in the post which might have been interesting to […]

Hey,
Interesting blog post. You describe in a good way how you have used Scrum and also why you find it to be beneficial for you and your group. I agree that it prevents procastination and motivates the team to work and put in the 20 hours required. Thats of course if you have your daily stand up meetins, which my […]

Hello! I like that you decided to design a level instead of having everything random. I think good level design is very important in games like this. I would argue that having the player learn mechanics the hard way might not be optimal for this game but then again, I do not know the difficulty curve or how much the player gets punished, so I cannot say much about it. I would recommend you pick up a drawing software such […]

User Stories are very hard to sell sometimes. I really like that you work with the User Stories each week to remind the group that they exist, so your team does not forget about them. This could make your group read them more and understand why User Stories are useful. If your team see how they can be used in a useful way they might appreciate them more in the future. It would also be very interesting to know if […]

Hey!
Interesting post! I think its really good that you are helping out you’re artists with easier tasks within art. That is super efficient and you save a lot of time. I find this good also because I, the same as you, have previous experience with art so I too help my artists out whenever needed and I find this super efficient for the group so I think you should keep doing that!
I would have liked to know a bit more […]

Interesting post about the tile for your game. The camera angle you picked for your game made it a bit more difficult on you than if it was a simple top view.
I can see with what intention your first tile was made, the color and the texture fit into the aesthetic goal.
I also agree that it was too detailed and caught the eye of […]

Working with Scrum
For any kind of development in general where you need to keep track of things, I think working with scrum is a good idea. Scrum helps you set goals and keep track of what you’ve done so far and how it went.
Regarding my team, I believe that scrum has really improved our development. Why I think this is because earlier during our first semester where we were given tasks to create board games or design documents. We never actually set […]

Thoughts on Scrum, and the troubles of individuals meeting up in person.
So, this will be a short one.
I don’t really have all too much to say about the SCRUM process, somewhat because I don’t really understand all parts of it as well as I could, and parts because we don’t really do it in the traditional way in our group.
We had our daily stand-ups in person the first week, but afterwards we figured that to avoid the hassle of having to book a room in the library to do them in […]
