I am oskar Karlsson lead programmer in the group Archon and we are working on the game Aetherial made by the group Zombie. During this weeks we in the group have been using scrum and it have helped our group a lot. And when you are using scrum in a group you are supposed to have daily stand up meetings. Scrum and Its Effects on Development
It is my experience that Scrum is a great lightweight framework for iterative development but it also comes with certain conditions that greatly affect development.
I have had some experience with Scrum in the past inside of an office environment and as such can make some comparisons between how Scrum has affected development based on the circumstances in which it is used.

During our time of developing “Aetherial” we barely have any of our regular lectures. For me this poorly structured week can have negative consequences on my productivity. Scrum has made it easier for us to structure our work week and the daily stand up meetings help us to keep our head in the game and focused on what we have to do. While we were all given some prior knowledge of what scrum entails, nobody in the group has had any practical experience with it before. The team has done a great job of planning and distributing work for each sprint and everyone (almost always) actively attends the daily stand-up meetings. The issues come with gauging work hours needed compared to actual work […]
