New semester = 3D-modeling and other cool stuff

The summer is over and the second year has just started. This semester I will start learning 3D and I’m so freaking excited!
This first week we’ve been analysing screenshots with focus on the elements of art, such as Line, Shapes, Space, Value, Colour and Texture. I must tell I haven’t played any of these games, which gives me a fresh look at these pictures.

New semester = 3D-modeling and other cool stuff

Homework; Image analysis and 3Ds max assignment


Batman
Lines: There are several diagonal lines going through the image, and this creates the overall impression of movement and action.
Shapes: the shapes give off an impression of being man-made, in that they are mostly controlled and square. The shapes of batman are a mash of nature meets technology in boxy versus curved shapes.
Space: Batman is the positive space in the image, his silhouette makes out the foreground. The spaceship is the neutral ground. The flying bats help to indicate […]

Relationships and character making!

Good evening readers!
 
Tonight I finally finished my assignment about the game Space Invaders. What I did was to divide different concrete objects into three ”subcategories” which were:
Objects, properties and behaviors.
For an example, the player craft in the game is an object. The speed which the player craft possesses is a property. Finally, a behavior to this is movement. This is roughly what I did in my assignment, but with all the objects in the entire game. (Of course it is […]

Bullets – position, speed, colour, graphic, not/active, damage, hitbox, sound Fx. Moving in a forward direction (upwards) from the spawned location and destroying object of collision (will dissapear if not). 
Player Craft – Graphic, location, speed, hitbox, player controlled, HP, 1 bullet on screen. Moves from side to side inside of the screen and spawns bullets when fire button are pressed by player.
