Hi!
First of all, I must say that it was a good reading and I can really see that you done your homework when it comes to SCRUM. I think that you made a great design decision and that it is nice to see that you been really concerned about all the risk that comes within game development. As you have said it is hard to predict all of potential issues, but I think you have shown a good understanding of […]

Hi!
Sad to here that your asset got cancelled and that it won’t be used in the finished game I would have loved to see it!
When it comes to the review of your post I have to say that it is easy to understand what you have done, in this case the menu buttons. One question I have is, did you ask your group that they were going to use the buttons to start the game and they changed their mind […]

Hi Samantha!
First of all, I want to say that I really liked your game! It was fun, interesting, clear and very beautiful! Your game had a consistent quality, a unique aesthetic and it stood out from the other Behemoth games. Good job!
I think your blog post was very informative and structured and I like how you began with writing a little bit about how the whole development of Behemoth started.
You were also very clear about writing what went well and what […]

Right off the bat – It’s very clear what’s been done here. A simple, but effective explanation of what you’ve been doing this sprint. The explanation of the function of the harbor is also really good. It catches me (the reader) up to speed without much excessivnes.
Your description of how you achieved this is also simple, it once again explains what you did and how you achieved that state, but nothing about the process itself. I think that […]

Hello Yinsong. The blogpost was very easy to digest which is nice.
The step-by-step walkthrough of your design decisions and workflow makes everything super clear and it’s actually pretty inspiring to read about. Showing the pictures also really helps me to visualise what you’ve been designing.
Something I would have liked to see more of would have to be reference picture so where you have taken your inspiration from and kind of what you’re aiming for. I also noticed that […]

Scrum
We are supposed to use a method called Scrum during this project. Apparently, it is a method that is used by many game development teams. Mostly it consists of a lot of meetings and a lot of communication.
I personally think it works very well for our group. In the Sprint Planning Meetings, we plan what needs to be done during the coming sprint. These meetings make it very clear what we are supposed to do the following week, and it […]

Hi Shifatul!
First of all, I’m sorry to hear that your alpha playtest didn’t work out as you wanted. It’s really annoying when that happens, but I also know that more teams had some technical problems with their games on the alpha playtest. I think you solved the problem good by just leave the playtesting and sit together and fix the problem. It’s also good that you did a lot of playtests in the team although, it’s better to let people […]

Hey,
Interesting blog post. You describe in a good way how you have used Scrum and also why you find it to be beneficial for you and your group. I agree that it prevents procastination and motivates the team to work and put in the 20 hours required. Thats of course if you have your daily stand up meetins, which my […]

Interesting post about the tile for your game. The camera angle you picked for your game made it a bit more difficult on you than if it was a simple top view.
I can see with what intention your first tile was made, the color and the texture fit into the aesthetic goal.
I also agree that it was too detailed and caught the eye of […]

Thoughts on Scrum, and the troubles of individuals meeting up in person.
So, this will be a short one.
I don’t really have all too much to say about the SCRUM process, somewhat because I don’t really understand all parts of it as well as I could, and parts because we don’t really do it in the traditional way in our group.
We had our daily stand-ups in person the first week, but afterwards we figured that to avoid the hassle of having to book a room in the library to do them in […]

Blog #3 Scrum
The best thing with working with agile scrum has been the daily standups. Getting a quick overview of what everyone is doing really increases the communication between the different minors. It’s been a really good way of making sure you’re not completely off track. Working with the sprints however, has been more of a struggle – at least in this project. The weekly sprints makes for a lot of time being time for meetings. Since we have had lectures on […]
