Week #1 – Player Projectile Sound Effect
Who – Anton Berglund
I am a 1st year student, enrolled at the Game Design and Project Management program in Uppsala University, Campus Gotland.
I have a long-standing love for games and dabble in a bit of everything related to the game development process. I am born and raised in Sweden (mostly) and currently working on getting my feet into the doors of game development. In the game development team I function as lead sound designer as well as producer.

Creating a workspace
As a project manager I have made it a point to promote productivity with the help of a communal environment. I want my team members to work in a space where they feel like they are working together, where we can promote the feeling of togetherness and also where we can just talk to each other as friends and take real breaks. To achieve this I decided to set up my apartment for this. A sturdy kitchen table and a […]

Sprint 3 – scrum-ing
Hi,
In order to continue with our project of designing game concept in an agile way, we had a sprint planning at the beginning of the week.
What is a sprint planning?
Sprint planning is a tool for agile scrum method, in which a project owner, together with scrum master and development team, decides about features they shall develop through the upcoming week. Those features are taken from a product backlog and considered as primary features that have the highest priority in given time.
How do […]

#5 “Sorry guys i need to do my homework” – Planing parallel projects.
Hi everyone!
Today i want to talk about the backlog and parallel projects.
It is common to encounter problems while working with two projects at once. At the moment we tend to structure our work so that it clashes with our ordinary school work. Handling scheduling gets difficult and our insight into our teammates situations regarding time spent on lectures, homework and other school-related activities tend to be vague at best. Many blame the schools scheduling and lack of communication for the […]

Playtest and Polish
Hello and welcome to this week’s blog post!
This week started out with the alpha presentation which went really well I believe, we kept it fairly short and sweet and did not recieve many questions at all which I would assume means that people understood what we are doing with the game. I saw it as a positive and I hope it was a positive! We got some feedback on the obstacles we had which we will take into consideration and […]

Blog 5
I am not sure how many people talk about the backlog, but I am going to do it now.
The backlog is an excel document that we use to track the project development. It is a tool used to track what has been done, what is being done, and what needs to be done. Items need to be prioritized and deadlines must be set. Once a week, the group and I decide on tasks that need to be done. The backlog […]

Balancing and designing weapons
So this week began with our beta presentation that went really well and our game was well received by the audience. We noticed that the different weapons had a positive effect. This is something that our group have had in mind throughout the entire production.
Our aesthetic goal and our lead word trough the project was feedback and that it feels good to play the game. And the biggest part of that is weapons and how they handle. Since shooting and […]

Working in group.
Hello!
During this past week of development, I have mainly continued to work on the level art for our game, with the hope of taking some of the work off of my graphics artists shoulders.
However, given the fact that i have already dedicated two previous blogposts towards explaining the process of creating level assets in photoshop, i decided to write this post about something a little different.
That thing being the importance of working together as a team. More specifically, having workshop-style […]

Week 7
Wrapping it Up
Soo, this is our last full week before the deadline of the project next Thursday. We have sat an internal deadline for ourselves on Monday when we want everything to be done, so that we can spend the last couple of days to do all the last minute polish and make sure the game works like we want it to. As project manager, my responsibilities at the moment mostly consist of doing my best to help out where […]

Helping out the group
During these last weeks me and some other people from my group have had problems to reach 20 hours of working time. Not like we havent had that before, but this time it’s more than usual. We were nearly basically finished with our game and the two pogrammers barely had anything left to do but to fix some minor buggs or try to improve things that already work.
The only thing left to be implemented was the boss. Basically, everything is […]

Thoughs on my leadership
Today’s Blogpost
Since this will be one of my last posts for awhile I was considering doing this as a recap of what I have done good and what I need to improve for next time.
First of all I think that my team has made a good game and that I feel proud to have been part of that team. The effort and dedication they have put in to make it possible is something I admire and feel will make them […]
