Week 9, Last sprint and GGC
Hello everyone!
The last sprint before GGC, aswell as GGC itself is now over!

We been working towards the Beta testing comming up this week.
Our goal was to polish the environment and tweak the lighting to give the player visual cues to solving different puzzles in the game.
Due to the amount of content that we had to cut, we needed to rethink our design of the game and therefor extend the amount of gameplay to the content we had available.The cut content have really changed the design of the game in terms of […]

Hello and welcome to the ”new” project that im working on.
In the timeframe of 10 weeks we, as a small team, are developing a Puzzle platform horror game called Refracted fate.

Week 7 has been a a stressful blast.

Hello again!
Due to sickness and a full schedual outside of the production phase i´ve decided to incorperate these two weeks with each other.
With the level boxed out and the core mechanics in place we needed to create some conflict. So a threat is added in the form of a security system.
When trying to come up with a design for the security system there were three features that were important for the main function of the system.

Week 3, Learning particle effects
Hello Everyone!
This week has been a slow week in terms of production.
As this is my first time working in Unreal Engine 4 i had to learn how the engine functions. Not only the engine, but also particle effects to use in our game.

Hello Everyone!
This week has been a slow week in terms of production.

Hello again!
This week we´ve been establishing the art style of the game.
Previous week we translated the concept into actual design for the game, breaking down our intended aesthetic goals to fail and sucess states that can guide us when creating the tuning the mechanics.

Week 8, The end(Screen)
Hello and goodbye!
This will be the last update for this project!
A lot of polishing has been done, but we have also tested our way through the game and everything surrounding it. Working with the navigation through the menu, tweaking and other small details that we think make our game, a better game!
While everything felt solid, we were still missing a proper function for highscore.

Week 7, OMNOMNOM
This week i have finished the animation for our last enemy to the game.
I have made references to this enemy before in an earlier blogpost called ”Vecka 4, Show me your moves”, where i called it ”Gammelgäddan”. The name was just a placeholder for whatever horrible beast that we could come up with!
After a few ideas about giant octopuses, actual pike or maybe a shark, we came up with something. As this enemy is suppose to be a one hit knockout […]

Week 6, It is friendly, right?
This week has been hectic!
A lot has been done, but nothing new!
We had our core down at the Alpha, and we knew things had to be fixed and added.
But we also took alot of knowledge from other peoples presentations and the feedback that they got.
With alot of knowledge under our feet about color, about shapes and about symbolism we started working on our pirate-themed pick-ups and power-ups.
A cannonball just looks like a black ball, so we need to add something. […]
