And we’re off!
So now we have officially begun working on the Naar project. It’s been a moderately busy two weeks since my last blog post but there really haven’t been much of my work to show. Most of my work in the Naar project have been in planning so not too much to show off from there. On the programming course we had a one day assignment to write modifications to a simple API, I probably would have shown it off here […]

UV mapping nightmare
Guess what we’ve been doing this week?
So we started with learning how you unwrap a 3D model to make it into a 2D image, so that we can actually draw on it. This is easier said that done, especially with round or very complex shapes. This is what my model looked like after a lot of work.
The colored squares and the numbers are part of the UV checker, which is an image you lay on top of your model to […]

3D-I Character turnaround and other things.
For our next 3D Assignment (character creation, yay!) we first have to create a pre-production package (which means concept art! Drawing! 2D!). The character had to be reasonably humanoid, not too detailed and stylized. So I came up with this cool chick:
(Not entirely sure about the colour scheme yet). She’s Mojo and she’s supposed to be the chemistry whiz in a 3D platforming game where you play a kid detective, “Codename: Kids Next Door” style. (It’s a work in progress…) […]

Sneak Peek Update
A while ago I posted a sneak peek of the new Tamarrion painting that I have been working on. It is starting to come together now and part of it will be found on our websites as a header. I just need to finish it off and perhaps spend just as much time on a background, but with other assignments as well it will have to take its time.
Those of you who have been watching my stream have followed me […]

Flat Colour Assignment
This week’s 2D assignment was to colour the line art we produced last week, only using colour blocks. It has been quite a challenge actually since we were forbidden to use lighting and only allowed to work with colour blocks as my entire scene is covered in snow. I might work some more on it before doing lighting next week, but this is how it turned out.

Scrap Pirates!
I have blogged about Scrap Pirates before, during the Big Game Project course last spring. Good news; we are continuing the development of the game!
If you want to show your support you can either take a look at our website, follow us on Twitter or like our Facebook page!
I have also made a project page in my Portfolio for this blog.
If you are not familiar with Scrap Pirates you can watch the trailer here:

Blog Update!
Hello!
I am back for my third year of studying game design & programming!
I have plans on becoming more active with writing posts here, not only for assignments but also other posts regarding games, as for example my work on Scrap Pirates.
The blog has been updated together with my return, so that it is more efficient and nice-looking. And you can now find pretty much all of my social media accounts in the side bar to the left. Huzzah!

School Visit
When left a day early to go to DreamHack Sthlm since we were asked by another team if we wanted to come with when they visited a school in Stockholm to talk a little about what we do at university and what it is like to study at a higher level. We did not know exactly what to do or why exactly we were there but we just went with it.
After one guy from the other team had a presentation […]

Back from DreamHack
The team just got back from DreamHack Sthlm, it has been a long weekend and we were all pretty exhausted. Although we had to share our space with another team, giving us only half of the time to show Tamarrion, and that the expo area was so small, we did have a really good time and we got to see some people really enjoying our game.
Comments that we got were, for instance, that they liked the character design and she […]

A small step for me, a giant leap for damselkind!
Här är mitt första blogginlägg…någonsin. Woop-di-doo!

Tasteful Games
So I’m starting a new blog on behalf of the startup I am involved in – Tasteful Games.
We’re a small company, currently 6 people who are planning to make games, both analogue and digital. All of us who work here are students of game design at Uppsala University and we love games far too much to do just video games or just board games.
There are other reasons too of course. Board gaming is currently where it’s at with a market on the […]
