Big Game: GGC and Beyond!
So much for being back on a weekly schedule!
The last weeks before the Gotland Game Conferance (GGC) were quite crunchy and so the blog had to suffer. To summarize what I did I’ll give you these words: feedback implementation and bug fixing. I added particles aplenty and also added the final animations for various different game objects.
All of our hard work was rewarded during GGC as we managed to secure no less than three awards!
The awards were as following:

Perhaps last entry, part #1: PPX, trailer and more
Due to various near-deadline circumstances, I had to postpone blogging in order to finish the game. Therefore I’ve decided to split this major update into two; the first being a standard blog post with content that should be dated a couple of weeks back, and the second being some pre-GGC, GGC and post-GGC talk (GGC = Gotland Game Conference, if you haven’t read previous posts). So without further ado:
PPX (Post-Processing Effects) and multiple Cameras
We had this […]

Post GGC-thoughts
So GGC is now finally over. Despite technical issues and that the demo ghost was present for me during GGC, I was still able to show of what I made during this course.
Feedback on my gameI couple of people came over and tried my game at the Gotland Game Conference. One thing that many people said was that the game needed more polish and that the player should have gotten more feedback, but it is a good base to keep […]

Big Game Project: Ninth week?
GGC has passed and everything went well. We didn’t win anything but we got some great feedback, people really liked the graphics and the music. We also now know how we can improve our game from all the other feedback we got, we will do this in the future.
This is my last entry for this production as GGC has passed and the production is at a hold.

BGP: Week Nine
This week followed with the final touches on the rule-book which had to be done before Tuesday. I got help by the other team members to overlook and edit the final text which helped a lot to add and correct certain parts. Last day before GGC I worked on the general design for the rule-book.

BGP: Week Eight
In the beginning of the week I still had not finished all of the illustrations. Though, this worked out well in the end. Since we had some problems with other cards that was not part of my schedule at first I had to take over those as well which delayed some of my original work. This went fairly smooth and we got all illustrations ready for printing in time.
Since I only had the day to draw this and from scratch […]

Big Game Project – GGC
The course Big Game Project is now over and the games were on display for three days during GGC. It was absolutely amazing this year, and we got a lot of valuable feedback that will help us as we continue to develop our game.
Our game Tower Offensive actually ended up winning three awards!
Best Presentation Award – This one is mostly to Emelie’s credit, but we all took part of the glory.
Cha-Ching Award – Given to the game with the best […]

Big Game Project – Week 8
Week 22
There was not a lot of work left for me to do under the final two days before GGC. I mostly spent my time on fine tuning the GUI elements of the game, designing an icon that could be used on the pad and doing other odd jobs that showed up as the programers worked on getting our digital version ready to be shown at the conference.

Big Game Project – Week 7
Week 21
The first thing I did this week was redesigning the layout of our GUI from scratch. The reason that we had for wanting to redesign it was that we wanted too have our marketplace (where you buy your cards) separate from the main game board. This was for the sake of giving more room for the cards that are on the hand and in play.
Because of the radical change in the layout; buttons and other elements needed to be […]
