Character concept – ”Lt. Michael ‘Lynch’ Casey”

One of the thumbnails, improved and turned into a real character; ”Lt. Michael ‘Lynch’ Casey”.
Some character background:
During World War I, Lt. Michael Casey volunteered to join the ‘Entente’ against the ‘Central Powers’ in western Europe.
As an experience fighter-pilot (having survived more than three training-exercises) he was paired with the renowned Royal Air Force officer Roy Brown, as one of his wingmen. During a particularly fierce fight, on the morning of 21 April, 1918, Michael managed to do something everybody in […]

Thumbnails – Character Design

My first thumbnails for my character design task. Some I like more than others, but I am mostly pleased with the lot of them.

2D

For the past few weeks I have been very busy with the first 2D course. We have been working a lot on construction and building characters with boxes and cylinders. I have been working really hard, trying to challenge myself every week and that is probably why I have been doing so well.
Anyways I thought I should post what I have been doing for my home work these past few weeks so I will start with the first one. […]

With Love…

I know it’s been a while since we finished our project but I thought I should post some screenshots from “With Love…” as well as the one page design. The first one is the start screen, the second is the action shot and the last one is the one page design document.

Game Jam Time!

Lock your away daughters and hide your husbands! Time for some more Game Jam. As I’m writing this, I finished my part of the Jam and I’m now taking a nice brake in the cold MoCap Studio.
This Friday was the start of a 3 day Game Jam (Friday 5 p.m – Sunday 11 a.m) with an unknown theme and unlimited amount of team members for your team. I joined Henrik, from my previous Major Assignment, into an already formed team. My […]

Clean line

Hi!
Now we have come to the cleanup part of our characters. I was supposed to do my rough sketch from two weeks ago, but I still don’t like it, so i drew a new pose for my character, gave her a more correct representation of her personality and corrected some minor failures.
I think she turned out okay, Could have been worked on more, creating more space and volume, but improvements can always be done. You’re not finished before you’re happy […]

Graphical design for web

These past weeks have been a mess. I’m studying 150% which includes the courses 3D2 – character modeling and animation, Concept sketch for 2D graphical production and graphical design for web. On top of that I got one rest assignment from the previous course ‘’Advanced game design’’, two months after I submitted my work on board game analysis and only time until 22dec to hand it in again.
So this week has been really hectic, but finally I have re-analyzed the […]

Luyia with her Umbrella

My clean line version of one of my characters from the thumbnails (concept “Bella and her Umbrella”). Thank God for painttool SAI and for it’s stabalizing tool (which I btw had on max setting), without it I wouldn’t be able to do this assignment.
Can you tell which one this is out of my thumbnails?
