Stick To It
This week has been rather slow. I’ve been quite sick this week. In fact it has been one of the worse illnesses I’ve had in quite a while. As a result, it drastically effected my work hours for this week. was planning to finish the openable object for the game this week, which is a large thick branch. However due to this illness, I’ve only managed to draw different rough concept sketches.
The rough sketches themselves is not enough material to […]

The Berry Portrayal
During this week I was in charge of implementing multiple different art assets to our game. The main art asset I have been working on this week the berry. I did have other tasks, such as recoloring the thorn vines previously mentioned on the last blog. However the berry was one of the main art assets I needed to implement. The berry has a major role in the game.
The berry’s function in the game is that once the moth collides […]

Leaves Until You Leave
During this week I was in charge of making leaves that would be used as assets for the different levels within the game me and Team Kraken are working on. While the concept of leaves itself can seem like a bland and easy subject at first, there is a lot more that goes on behind each detail of how a leaf is designed. The first point being what kind of leaf it is going to be. When deciding on what […]

Further Development of the Spider Animation
This week I continued to work on the spider animations frames. I did finish the walking animations of the spider, as well as finish the attack animation. The spider walking animation itself took around 28 hours of work time during the week prior to this one. I have already mentioned this in the blog “The Frustrating Spider Animation” in terms of why the process was so long. In short, I didn’t know how the legs of the spider moved in […]

The Frustrating Spider Animation
This week I’ve been trying to develop a animation cycle for a spider. This spider is an enemy within the game and will act hostile towards the player character whenever it sees the opportunity. The spider will be located mostly in spider webs they’ve weaved and different around such as branches. However, to make this all possible, I’ve been working on a walking animation cycle.
This was a difficult task. I had no idea how a spider walked, not to mention […]
