Postmortem
It has been a tough past 10 weeks for all of us, we have all been very busy trying to keep up with our sprints, we have argued between each other, we have planned, created and we have given our all. I am happy to say I am pleased with our game and all of the other ones. Good job to everyone!

Beta Play Test
When producing a game it is very important to play test often. It gives you lots of insight and details on what to change, what is fun, what people like or do not like, almost everything! The more you do it, the more you know about your game. And what’s even better is to get someone else to play it too, other people have a fresh mind set which you can use to see flaws or details form someone who […]

You Died by Hanna Aho Lind
Hello Hannita!
I really liked the three submarines you designed. I think my favorites are the second and the third, however in my opinion, I would mix them. I liked the second one, mostly because of the colors, but also because I can easily see what you meant with the window cracks being blue and the red light, it looks amazing! The third one definitely looks like it’s telling a story, and I love that, […]

The Animation of Barry the Sqrrl
Have you ever wondered how cartoon characters seem to be alive? Well, of course you have and I am pretty sure you know how animators made it happen, but in case you don’t know how animators “give life” to your favorite characters, for example in 2D animation, they literally draw objects and characters on paper or in the computer and then position them in frames to create the animation.
There’s different kinds of animations like 2D or 3D, and different ways […]

General Ship Design by Emma
Hej! You explained your design process very well. When I read your post, I could almost follow everything you were saying as if I were the one designing your ship. You clearly said what was done, how and why.
Also, this post made me think about my very own choices in my designs. When I was reading I kept going back to my own design process, trying to figure out if I was going through what […]

2/22/18 Scrum
The first time I heard about scrum I thought it was going to be a hassle and a bunch of unnecessary meetings (I still think there are a bunch of unnecessary meetings). However I have come to think that scrum is very helpful to get in a very productive workflow, to work in a team and to keep on track. I will point out a few of the things that have helped me personally and why.
Sprint plannings have helped me […]

2/15/18 Communication in art
Have you ever stopped and thought how some problems could’ve been avoided? Maybe you should’ve mentioned that thing you were worried about before, or maybe you could’ve listened to your friend since the beginning. All this because of a lack of communication.
There’s all sorts of communication, from group communications to your very own body telling you that you are hungry, and all of them are very important. However, communication in art is essential for game design and we realized this […]

I didn’t give much thought to the lines of a drawing before. It was always something so simple and unimportant in my head ‘Colors make a picture’, ‘Who needs lines anyway?’. However, one of our teachers (Leo), told us to keep them in mind, that lines do make a picture too, thickness can create depth and so on. I could see his point, but I never fully understood the actual impact this has in our art until now.
After starting our […]
