The latest version

Today we had yet another playtesting session. We got some critique on several of our systems that made us consider if we should change it. However, when playing with Adam he told us that it was a great game that he enjoyed a lot and we sholdn’t change much of anything.
We’ve decided that we still need to change the board a bit, and maybe consider adding another element. But it feels pretty solid at this point, so we’ll mostly polish […]

CoBots Launch Trailer

Today is the release of our game CoBots!!
We made this game last spring as a school project and since it got such great feedback, we decided to release it. We’ve been polishing the game this autumn and now it’s finally available at Desura and on our site!
This is the first game I’ve ever released and none of the graphic students in my group had worked with 3D before, so I’m very proud of us for making it this far. OwO

Board games dwarfs

This is a continuation of my latest post that was about a board game we created.
We had some rethinking to do as our of how our game was it didn’t look good. So our task was to improve the game, and we did so quite drastically.
I can simply say that the game has changed a lot again and I believe we are getting close to the finish line. As the game is very defined now and it is more engaging […]

Week 43

We began this week by going over the feedback that we’d received from the two groups from last week. The feedback showed us that the movement system we had worked and was enjoyable to an extent. What we had was to thin, it had no depth and adding this depth was what took the most of my attention this week. Figuring out how to benefit the players to avoid each other but at the same time put something there to […]

Penguin mania!

This week started out with three days of being home and sick. After getting on my feet again but not able to get down to school I did what I could: concept art. We had a meeting with Markus last week were we talked a lot about the style of the game. Did the movement system really work with the early concept of the players being rats trying to catch a cheese? The movement system more resembles something that slides […]

Wizards and invisible Monsters

During this weeks playtesting me and my group tried out two boardgames we hadn’t testet yet, I can remeber the group numbers sorry about that.
The first game we tried out was sort of like a dungeon crawler, where one player got to be an evil wizard I got to be the wizard which was awesome! the other players where heroes who’s goal was to find 3 keys then go to my tower and  kill me, and the wizards goal is […]

This Weeks Progress

This Weeks Progress:
This week we’ve had a lot of progress on our board game. I remade our map so it was a lot more balanced than our previous versions while modifying it after feedback other people have given us. When I was happy with the layout I added some graphics real quick to make it more attractive, this version is far from the final one but it gives you an idea of how it could look like.
Game Testing:
Last Thursday […]

Advanced game design week 43

This week we had a meeting with Marcus, where we got some more feedback.
The feedback we got:

Add another mechanic to make the game more dynamic.
Make obstacles larger than one tile. As they didn’t hinder the play because they could move diagonally.
He also gave us the idea that board could be flooded by water to stress the players more, as they had to hurry before the board was completely flooded.

I got the task to make the game pieces for the 2nd […]
