Restrictions
– 2D (But you are free to decide perspective)
– No Gravity (Not requiring a gravity system)
– PC controls (Keyboard and/or mouse)

3D week 06 – Character turnaround

Hi everybody!
This week we started to work on our assignment 3, which will be a humanoid character (it doesn’t have to be a human but as long as it has two arms, two legs, a head etc. it’s okay).
When creating a character first of you will do a concept of what kind of character it is. Like if it is a human or a monster or whatever, if it is male or female, if it’s young, old etc. a kind […]

3D week 05 – Final Crate

Hello!
This is the final post about my crate and my first assignment in 3D graphics 1.
A 3D model often consists of at least four parts. The mesh which is the actual 3D model, the diffuse map which is the texture that holds all the colours, the specular map which tells the secularity of  different parts of the object, and last the normal map which contains information making details look realistic and not like “stickers”.
A diffuse map is basically a 2D […]

In this blog post I will talk about the pre-production package I got from my fellow classmate Simon Brundin (https://harttago.wordpress.com). I will share the character background and some information on the game world that this character originates from.

3D Computer Graphics: Theory and Application I, Post 7

This is my seventh post relating to course 5SD045, it is an update of my progress on assignment 3 – the third major coursework hand-in – and a theoretical Q&A about traditional art and anatomy. Lectures were held on 2014-10-14 and 2014-10-15.
In addition to that and as there isn’t much else to cover this week, I’ll quickly touch on the results of assignment 2 to provide some closure to the assignment.

This is the result […]

Assignment 3: Part 1

So the following is what I received from Björn in terms of character background and instructions along with some image references.

Name
Y’hrel
Nickname
Dryskin, Air Dweller
Gender
Male
Age
Young Adult
Physical Characteristics
Not as shiny as his fellow kinsmen, due to his body having learned to conserve moisture to a greater extent as he’s made his way on land.
Movement
As a Murloc, few things could match him under water. More than capable of hunting down schools of fish armed with little more than a net or spear. On […]

3D Week 6 – Assignment 2 Final

Here we go; the final version of my collect for the second assignment in the 3D1 course. After crunching for a couple of days to make up for the time I lost whilst attending DreamHack Stockholm -14 a couple of weeks back, I managed to finish on time. I had some trouble remembering how to unwrap my model and create the UV-map, but I got some help from teachers and friends to find my way around the program, though that, […]
