Spirit Boom Title Screen

Last week I worked on the title screen, the logo, combat UI and some more characters for the game.
Here is a video of the title screen being made.

And an update on the village. It’s scaled down to about half size for the blog, but it’s still pretty big.

Big Game Project, Spirit Boom

This week I’ve been working on style guides for our game called Spirit boom. Up until now i did not know that simply filming my work would be enough, but i have been told that it is. So from now on I will mostly post speed paint videos of my work for this game.

So far this week I’ve been finishing the main menu background. I think it turned out good, except I didn’t have time to add more playground things like a swing or some scattered toys. I decided to cut that to save time. But I still think the background works just fine.
Here it is without the menu buttons.

This week I’ve been working on some dirt sprites, the UI and the main menu background.
The dirt sprites are very simple transparent layers with some dirt and mud added. The game will then just lay that over the sprites when you get muddy to illustrate that you actually are. I just used some preset brushes in Photoshop to make the dirt, nothing fancy, only took about one hour to make all the sprites. I made three different dirt levels in […]

Playground Panic map and sprites

This week I’ve been mostly working on the map background for the game. I also made a sprite for the male player character and a quick placeholder one for the basic enemy. This is the entire map as it is right now.
