Classes about Classes
This past week the focus has turned to working with classes. The process was a tricky one since this is where my previous coding experience is reaching its limit, and the task required me to do things that have not been necessary for me before. Most of my working time has been spent on the task of creating a class able to simulate a deck of cards.
To do this I created a Card class meant to simulate cards by their […]

Pong!
Second week into the course and the focus has turned to games! For the last couple of days we have been working with building a working version of the classic game Pong, using the library SDL to create a visual window.
Pong is a very old game (Original arcade version released 1972) and also one of the most famous retro games. The game is a simple abstraction of tennis, split with two paddles, controlled by players, on each end of the screen […]

Returning to Shape
At the moment writing this, I recently began my first game programming course. The first week of the course has passed by really fast and was over before I knew it. So far it has been an easy time giving me a chance to remember what I learnt before I began here. Over all quite a relaxing start that helped me ease into coding again
That said, the tempo is quite high, and had I not known most of what was […]

Personal View on the Pitches
Today the different groups gathered to show their pitches for the space shooter concepts that we have been working on for the last five weeks. I took small notes during every other group’s pitch which will be presented below. Keep in mind that these are my subjective opinions, and each text is written during or just after the pitch was presented. There is also no text on the game ”Green Warden”, since this was from my group and I concider myself […]

Starting up!
So for the first time in my life I am getting an official place to gather work, ideas, and other things. A first step on the path I’ve just set up on. Hopefully it will be filled with content as the coming months passes and the education proceeds. So cheers for the future!
