System Analysis – The Last Night on Earth

This is an analysis of the board game Last Night on Earth. A game where you play either the heroes trying to survive and complete the scenario, or the zombie horde trying to kill and stop them. I will first go through the different systems the game has and summarize how all of them work with each other. Then I will move on to things I did/didn’t like about these systems and the full game. And lastly discuss what audience […]

3D Assignment 2 – The Strange Brooch

Greetings!
Earlier this week our class visited the museum to pick out an object and then later om model that one in 3D. I chose this object:

A box you ask? Nope, it’s actually a brooch! A weird looking one I admit. Used around the year 900. It was apparently used for women apparel, must have been some heavy clothing this brooch held together.
I chose this object for the interesting texturing it proposed, with all the small golden details and so on. […]

3D Week 3 – The Optimum Crate

Greetings!
So, this week I went through the process of optimizing the crates I made last week. In groups of three we gave each other one of our crates and let that person optimize that crate. It was interesting in the way of looking how other people worked and viewed certain things, something that should be done more in all kinds of education.
The crates I had made where pretty simplistic as I mentioned last week, so they didn’t need that much […]

The Five Heads of the Hydra

Greetings!
Was watching a QnA with the youtuber Jesse Cox earlier this week. In it he talked about a fanart of himself he anted to be drawn, and it was mostly from the image he described I got this idea.
I had some trouble when it came to how I wanted the hero to be portraid, but I think it came out rather well for the skill level I am at.

As I usually do, I started with a simple sketch and a […]

3D Week 2 – Creating Crates

Greetings!
So, as the title suggests This week of 3D class, we’ve been creating crates. Three crates to be exact. One theme for each crate.
#1 Sci-fi
The pure characteristics of science fiction is sterile surfaces and everything having a function, except for lights, lights are just put all over the place because it looks cool. Oh, and control panels! Everything needs control panels. Often this theme uses simple, geometric shapes with smooth textures.

This is concept art from the upcoming game Star Citizen. […]

System Analysis – Game of Thrones: The Board Game

This is an analysis of the board game Game of Thrones Second Edition, no expansions or the like. I will first go through the different systems the game has and summarize how all of them work with each other. And then move on to things I did/did not like about these systems and the full game. And lastly discuss what audience this is targeted towards.

Systems – A “Brief” Explanation

The Stripes of a Tiger

Greetings!
Never ever before have I drawn a tiger, nor have I documented my drawing procedure. But in my last drawing, I did both!
I saved some images at relevant points during my process of creating this magnificent beast. It went pretty well I would say. But I aspire to do better.

I started as I usually do, a quick sketch to get an idea of what I want to have drawn. Just too keep me focused on the subject at hand.

I then […]

3D Week 1 – A Great Start

Greetings!
Now at the end of the week I’ll go through what I, together with others, did on the last two 3D lessons.
I’ll try to keep it short and consolidate all the notes I took. But we’ll see how that goes!
Lesson #1
In this lesson we were given four images, either screenshots of promotional images of games, and the task to analyze them using the elements of art.
#1 The Evil Within

A game I’ve not seen or heard anything about. Which is good, […]

So It Begins…

Greetings!
This is now my site for blogging and posting digital drawings I’ve made. I will continuously work to make the page more presentable and it may see some changes over the next few months. I will also try to blog and post drawings regularly and in a steady stream.
But this is a bit new for me so we will see where it goes!
Have a good one!

Save the Best for Last

Or just the things that are not as important. This week I indulged myself in some graphical things that needed to be done to make the game  bit prettier.
One of the first things I did was the health-bar for the bosses. As of before I made the graphic for it, it was a simple red bar at top of the screen. I simply just made it a more flashy bar. I started with an black silhouette st playing around in […]

Small Things That Matter

Greetings!
Today I will discuss some of the choices we as a group have made. That along with some of the artifacts I’ve completed this week.
Our game has a very winding map that, we noticed, is extremely boring to walk through when you’ve already killed all the mobs or walking back from a boss fight. To fix this we threw some ideas around and tried to find something nice and simple just to get the character more engaged even when there […]

The Sound of “sort of-” Music

Greetings! Better late then never I suppose.
I spent this week working on the music for the game. And wasn’t that an experience, for a moment I really thought I had gone over my head with it all.
To be honest I’ve never been especially musically talented nor have I ever made my own music. So as you could probably tell this was a challenge from the beginning, and even much more so as the genre we have gone for is Jazz. […]
