Big Game Project – Week 8
Week 22
There was not a lot of work left for me to do under the final two days before GGC. I mostly spent my time on fine tuning the GUI elements of the game, designing an icon that could be used on the pad and doing other odd jobs that showed up as the programers worked on getting our digital version ready to be shown at the conference.

Big Game Project – Week 7
Week 21
The first thing I did this week was redesigning the layout of our GUI from scratch. The reason that we had for wanting to redesign it was that we wanted too have our marketplace (where you buy your cards) separate from the main game board. This was for the sake of giving more room for the cards that are on the hand and in play.
Because of the radical change in the layout; buttons and other elements needed to be […]

Week 20
I started this week with Redesigning our card frames in order for them to fit the theme of our game better. The new frames have more angular elements that will tie in better with our logo and our GUI design. We tried to give all the different types of cards their own color in order to create a more visually diverse and clear representation for them. But we quickly noticed that having to many different colors made the game […]

Big Game Project – Week 5
Week 19
I started week 19 with redesigning our placeholder logo. This was originally not my task, but due to sick leave and other occurrences, the task landed on my table. On advice from Lina (our graphics teacher) I created many different versions of our logo that I showed to the team, teachers and other people to get feedback on what would work. I then took elements from the different versions of the logo that people seemed to like the most, […]

Big Game Project – Week 4
Week 18 I finished up the drawings that I had not been able to do last week as well as three more illustrations.
I started out with lose sketches that I later painted over in gray scale, iterating and re-painting until I was somewhat satisfied with the result. I tried getting as much feedback as possible from my teammates and other people before I went on to color the painting in order to lessen the risk of needing to fix things […]

Big Game Project – Week 3
I started week 17 with finishing up the last of the thumbnail sketches that we needed for our internal alpha deadline. Due to some serious discussions that we where having in the team regarding weather or not we where going to switch theme for the game(from secret agents, to something more mafia related) and some members still being absent due to Ester brake, it was difficult to start doing any of the final illustrations until we where able to discus […]
