The Day before Beta
This week was a very busy week. In the beginning of the week there were still many things to be done before the beta. The level design is now pretty much finished, two different tile sets were added to create a more interesting environment and the lamps were made separate from the background. We now have two colours on the light, blue and orange and each lamp have three states: on, off and flickering.
Here are some wip pictures of our […]

Late Post for week 5
Last week was the alpha week. The feedback we got, and the experience we saw the people playing our game had, made us realise that we had to rethink our level design. After the alpha we started a new level from scratch, focusing on learning the player how mechanics work. We did this by making sure we introduced new mechanics on their own, not combined with another mechanic. We brought some fellow students to try out our new level and […]

Pre Alpha week (w4)
This week was the last week before the alpha should be ready. The main focus of the week from my side was making a small test level to be played at the open game testing that was held on Friday. This involved plenty of play testing, remodelling of the level, and discussions with the other team members on what we needed to make the level work.
Many art assets were implemented during the week such as buttons, inactive and active boxes as […]

Scrap Pirates (w3)
This blog will cover the work on Scrap Pirates, a second year project at the Game design program at Uppsala Universitet Campus Gotland.
I am the producer of the group but I am also one of the two people in charge of the level design. The first two week of the project were dedicated to planing the project and writing the Design Document. I did that together with Rebecka Nyström (our Lead design) and we are also the ones working on […]

Blog report week 08
Facial scanning
During week 8 we were working with modelling human faces. One exercise we did during class was that we used a 3D scanned head and cleaned up the topography. Werther you wanted to use your own face or not was up to everyone to decide. I decided to use a head from http://www.123dapp.com/Gallery/catch, an Autodesk site where you can make 3D scans from photographs. I did this simply because I am not comfortable with seeing myself from all thinkable angles. So […]
