“Yesterday the ECJ ruled that employers in Europe must set up a system to track the daily working hours of their staff. The decision is an effort to crack down on unrecorded overtime and properly enforce the EU Working Time Directive, which restricts employers from making staff work more than 48 hours a week, and grants at least 11 consecutive hours of rest every 24 hours.”

In celebration of the international Womens’s Day, PocketGamer ran an interview with Kate Edwards. In it she talks about her experiences from a 26-year career in games (including founding Geogrify, and being the executive director for IGDA).
She talks about what she’s currently up to, traveling the world consulting for game studios and industry advocacy, and offers a ton of advice for aspiring game developers looking to break in.

We’re going to hand out a few tickets for the Gotland Game Conference (including ferry tickets to Gotland). All you need to do is visit our booth and pick up the secret password, and use it to fill out the form at the bottom of this post.

If you’re wondering what to expect from the Gotland Game Conference 2019, here’s a quick look at last years’ event.
In 2018 more than 800 people turned up to play games, listen to talks and network with game developers. The show floor had more than 35 games available for play – all made by game design students right here on Gotland, and recognized world-wide!
