Recording HD footage with Unity and Fraps
Today I worked on our trailer for our game CoBots. Besides the videographical changes from the GGC trailer I made earlier this year there was also this lingering problem with the colors and the extreme color banding that occured throughout the video. The characters (and everything in general) was also very washed out and somewhat blurred, and this time I set out to do it right. For those of you who […]

Narrative Assignment
So the last week we did an analysis on the story of Bioshock Infinite. Which was, put in simple terms, tough. Firstly I found the whole thing about “3 Act”, “9 Act” and “Heroes Journey” to be extremely confusing. It was not until I had seen my friends hand in that I thought I understood what it was all about. I then chose to do it with the template of a “Heroes Journey”, which I am not so sure was […]

Game Night week
This week has been a very busy one. At the start of the week we had a testing session with Marcus where we explained our board game to him and got some valuable feedback. On Wednesday we tried to apply some of them but got stuck very fast. We had a lot of problems getting unstuck so in the end we scrapped most of our ideas and started over with a really good brainstorming session.
With the new system our game […]

Week 43 Reflection
This was another tough week for us. Many of us (me included) we’re sick and away during the start of the week. When we all finally got together at Wednesday we had some major issues facing us. Both from the testing session last week and from the meeting we had with Marcus Monday we learned that the game we had simply did not work. The biggest issue we had was perhaps with sabotage; it was set up so that it […]

This week has been playtesting week. A lot of internal testing was done, as well as external testing. We tested many different configurations, like number of players, cards in starting hand and cards on the table. We also added a new feature: the trap card and with that: items.
The majority of the internal testing was done on Wednesday 2013-10-22. We played from morning until the afternoon. We continuously made subtle changes between rounds, to see how much things changed. A […]

<3 Education
Hi blog,
This blog might not seem school work related, however bear with me, and I hope you will see why I chose to put this up as a blog for my reflection. It’s a bit more “personal” than my other posts and I’m going to try to be more personal in the future. Not that people have commented on anything, heck I don’t even know if anyone is reading this stuff.
When I first started to prepare myself to get a […]

Board Game – Play testing
Goal of the week – play testing
The goal this week was to play test and tweak our game so that we had a good and balanced version that could be play tested by other groups at the play testing session this Thursday.
What we did
One of the first issues we had to fix was that the wizard became too powerful too quickly. So we changed so that instead of automatically gaining one extra mana each turn the wizard only gained mana […]
