BGP week 6

Heyo, week 6 is over and stuff is coming together. The game is becoming more and more playable each day, which is fun. This week has been a little chaotic as we have been working to get the game ready for the playtesting which took place yesterday (friday). We also had a deadline yesterday to submit screenshots and the logo for our game. Logo below!

BGP week 6

Prioritizing

We have been prioritizing all the main tasks during the sprint planning meetings. They are prioritized after how much they add value to our game.
During the sprint planning meetings, we talk about what we want to accomplish during the sprint. The decisions are noted as main tasks and then we start to prioritize all the main tasks. The Runes of Kalevala Developer’s Blog IV – The Quadrille of Antropomorphic Amphibians

FROGS
This track is a quadrille about frogs. Frogs of great power and poor manners.
It’s just a short outtake but it’s showing the direction I’m heading with it. I’ll be adding some slower parts and switch up the instrumentation some for the later bits. Again it’s all just performed by the power of MIDI and this project just loves to point out the flaws of that approach.
Basically everything we’re trying to accomplish with this game hinges on a level of authenticity […]

The Runes of Kalevala Developer’s Blog IV – The Quadrille of Antropomorphic Amphibians

FROGS

The Runes of Kalevala Developer’s Blog III – Wolves of Unusual Size

On the fourth week of development we came to the conclusion that we needed a battle theme for the wolves of unusual size running around the forest of our vertical slice.

Mushy textures! And more!

The third week was spent texturing more things, such as these mushrooms. Again I worked in Zbrush. Diffuse maps were done by: Lisa WS

I created some more models for the game. Some tree mushrooms that both characters can climb, that will also serve as decoration in some cases. Then there are the leaves that are platforms for the light character, Lumi.

Alpha build

Last week was Alpha presentation, where we showed Symbiosis to a jury of testers for more in-depth feedback, and another playtest session is scheduled for this friday before the beta presentation next week. We have, to put it short, our hands full. I will thus not go into very much detail on my recent work, and instead give you a short update on the project.

Alpha build

Last week was Alpha presentation, where we showed Symbiosis to a jury of testers for more in-depth feedback, and another playtest session is scheduled for this friday before the beta presentation next week. BGP Week 5

Week five has passed and a lot has been done. These are some of the things I have done:

Update Iron and Stone models
Made the thing that holds the elevator on the island
New ground grass texture
Made two landmarks for the jungle
Set up 3 light presets for our day and night cycle
Plus some smaller stuff

Since I finished all the character labeled assets last week, I started pitching in with the environmental art. Started out with doing some different kinds of textures for the houses, which turned out like this;



They are all created in several different layers so you can easily change the color to whatever you want, for example;

Första månaden avklarad

Var inte så arg, gamle kompis! Lugn. Låt det vara! Stäng av tankarna, slappna av och flyt med.
Det har nu gått 4 veckor på Viscando och produktionen är i full gång. Mitt arbetsflöde var la lite knas från början då jag är ny på arbetsmarknaden men den håller på att räta upp sig igen. Har precis gjort färdigt planeringen för de resterande 2 månaderna. Saker och ting ser bra ut, manusskrivande är i full gång och kommer att fortsätta (tills det är […]
