Big Game Project – Week 2
Yesterday I felt like I had stayed up completely too long and screwed over my sleep schedule again, it was 9 pm. This week has been so crazy that when it’s finally weekend I have too much time.
We had a deadline this week to have our first playable prototype ready by Friday. This ended up with us working until 2 AM the day before, but we got a lot of stuff done.

So the final course of the second year has started, Big Game Project. I am part of a group consisting of six awesome people, and we’re going to develop a 2D tower defense/match three hybrid game in Unity. Follow the process over at Deconstructed which will be updated regularly by our Producer Emelie.
So far we’re only just gotten started in our office, and some of us are still adapting to Unity, but we have a schedule, a project plan and an […]

Final Week of Advanced Game Design
So this week is the last week of the course “Advanced Game Design” and we’re basically finished with the board game that we’re presenting tomorrow. All we need to do now is to name the game and polish some elements, like putting descriptions on the cards.
During the end of last week was Gamex so half of the group was gone and we didn’t get much done, except yesterday when we did some playtesting with two people from outside the group. […]

Serious Game – Streets of Stockholm
So this week I’ve been working on two different games at the same time, one of them having a deadline tomorrow. This was the game project I’ve worked on in the course Serious Games.
It’s called Streets of Stockholm, and is mainly about informing and trying to raise sympathy for the homeless in Stockholm. Their situation and how you can help as a person is what we set out to focus on with the game.

So this week I’ve been working on two different games at the same time, one of them having a deadline tomorrow. This was the game project I’ve worked on in the course Serious Games.
It’s called Streets of Stockholm, and is mainly about informing and trying to raise sympathy for the homeless in Stockholm. Their situation and how you can help as a person is what we set out to focus on with the game.

Game Testing Day!
We spent today with other groups from the course and helped test each other’s board games. We then gave each other feedback on them and generally discussed a lot of interesting suggestions for the games.
We had at least three different groups play our game and give us feedback on it. Most people that played it agreed that our movement system was a solid and fun core base for the game. Unfortunately we still hadn’t gotten much further than that, so […]
