My work on E.R.A

We started working on the Big game project about three weeks ago. Things has so far gone very smoothly an we are on schedule.. (knock on wood). My work has been to make a concept of the melee creep, make the model, skin it and then do rough animations. Done and done. With the over all concept of the game being a bit of steampunk-ish I had to get familiar with the artstyle as I’ve never done anything like it. […]

Penguin mania!

This week started out with three days of being home and sick. After getting on my feet again but not able to get down to school I did what I could: concept art. We had a meeting with Markus last week were we talked a lot about the style of the game. Did the movement system really work with the early concept of the players being rats trying to catch a cheese? The movement system more resembles something that slides […]

The changing of the board

I’m working on designing a board game for the course Advanced game design at Uppsala university. Our aesthetic goal was to feel hunted/and or like a hunter. We knew we wanted a common goal or object to obtain in order for there to be a chase.
After going back and forth about our movement system we decided that the first system with movement cards had the best modular possibilities. With a range from one to five and with at most five […]

Bringer of doom, the Aztecs!

I’m finishing one of my concept courses. This game was especially fun to work with as the theme was a clash between different religions. I chose to make my turnaround of one of the enemies in the game. Namely a lunatic Aztec god who is half statue, half undead. This was the final result ( I had to stop myself from making too many accessories as my time was limited although I felt he could do with more jewelry).
