WIP 4 – Assignment 3

Today, I have started my second character for the assignment – Jim Broadbent. I will fix the neck and chest and add some asymmetry to the character. I will also flatten out his head which is currently a bit pointy.

New Mocap System at Uppsala University

As you know, we’ve recently made a substantial upgrade to our motion capture equipment. We’ve swapped out all the tech and swapped out the studio – we moved it from our previous spot at the Baltic Art Center, to the university’s own F-building – ie: the GAME house, right next to the small boat harbor in Visby.

We have mocap!


We have moved and upgraded our old motion capture equipment! The new hotness consists of 16 brand new OptiTrack Prime13 cameras, new software, the works! And now we need test subjects, hehe.

So this one is myself. I am well aware that the neck and shoulders are way to small and I will fix that. After applying symmetry, the model did not look like me, so I will fix that as well.

Self help app update!

Just a very quick update today, to tell you that I’ve switched the self help app blog from a wordpress to a tumblr, as I thought I would reach more of my target audience there!

ComicCon 2016


As is our custom we sent a dozen of our students and their games to Gamex / ComicCon this year too. This year we showed off primarily 1st and 2nd year games and drew decent crowds with multiplayer games like Frog Climbers, the only true zombie-survival game Zombie Crawler, the relaxation and sleep helper Slumber and the unlikely party game Cryptogram; an escape the room horror game controlled entirely by a book shelf.
