Ignite
I’m doing an ignite presentation, that’s 20 slides, 15 seconds talking per slide, 5 minutes of self expresison.
As a musician I am accustomed to learning songs by heart.
But somehow learning a speech by heart is a lot more difficult.
Maybe it’s the lack of rhymes, although Im not keen on testing that theory in practice.
The speech is a presentation of myself for a course at the university, nice and low risk situation. But talking about yourself rather than your work is […]

Jurassic Owl – The brand, the work, the passion
This is the intended rebirth of this blog space.
Jurassic Owl is a small start-up business in the field of game, digital and audio design. These are the fields in which I apply myself. I have been an musician and artist all of my life and I also dabble in other aspects of art such as writing, drawing and painting.
I’m an entrepreneur and a student of the arts. I am currently working my way towards a phd in design at […]

WB! A new semester!
We are back from the “holiday” (which consisted of work naturally) and began school two weeks ago. This term my classes are advanced game design and 3D. The first things we had to do in 3D was to learn 3d´s max. We all had to create different kinds of crates.
Its seems like a lot of fun and I look forward to learning even more. I have not got that much to show so far but hopefully this gives you […]

Boxes and barrels (of fun!)
This week we’ve continued with 3D modeling and we have made some more complex objects, mainly barrels and boxes, which are very common things to find in games.
These two objects have a fairly low amount of polygons (sides, essentially) and look a bit simplified, so they would be suited for a relatively cartoony game. We learned how we should always start focusing on the silhouette of the object, because silhouettes are what people see before anything else. This […]

Life Drawing: Summer compilation art dump
This summer I attended a course called “Life Drawing”, given by the awesomely talanted and patient Pernilla Persson here at Campus Gotland so I’m uploading a small compilation of what we have covered during the summer and some personal pieces to show some of the (painstakingly slow) progress made.
During the first weeks Pernilla spoke a lot about rhytm and gesture, getting down that first impression and seeing the gesture (what the model is conveying) rather than anatomy or parts. Eventually, […]

Game Design in practise
Hi everyone!!
The course ”Game Design in practise” has just started. For this course we (the students) will be looking a lot more at marketing, finding a target audience and entrepreneurship. Most student groups will continue doing their BGP games that we did for GGC last spring. For BGP me and a friend had a concept of a board game that
we wanted to do, but in the end we chose to do different projects for that course.
So I thought “why […]

Second year, week one!
*gently dusts off blog*
Hello everyone, I’m back! I have to admit I didn’t do much during the summer, and it feels a bit strange to be back here. It kind of feels like I was never away. But mostly in a good way!
So, this has been my first week of the second year. It’s been a gentle start mostly, which suited me fine. The most interesting part has been finally getting into 3D. We are using 3ds Max as our […]
